9월 25일 열린 준결승전에서 홈코트,34위인 카자흐스탄의 알렉산더 브블릭을 이기고 프로 데뷔 후 첫 투어 결승에 오른 권순우가 준결승전을 마치고 카자흐스탄 테니스 협회(KTF) 에서 진행한 인터뷰에서 소감을 밝혔다.
경기 후 네트를 사이에 두고 브블릭이 "정말 엄청난 경기력을 보여주었다, 서브가 매우 좋았다(You played crazy good man, have you ever served like this?)" 고 권순우에게 덕담을 건넬 정도로 권순우가 잘한 경기였다.
권순우는 "처음으로 투어 결승에 진출해 매우 기쁘다,오늘이 코치(유다니엘)의 생일인데 ..결승 티켓이 선물이 된것같아 기쁘다(I’m so happy to get to my first final. Today is my coach’s birthday, so it was the perfect present to give him)"
"한포인트 마다 집중했고 서비스 게임을 지키려고 노력했다. 초반 브블릭의 서브가 너무 좋아 어느쪽인지 예측 후 한쪽 사이드에만 집중하려고 노력했다. 후반에는 서브리턴이 가능해졌다(«I had to think of one point at a time, I had to concentrate on my side. Bublik has such a great serve too. At the beginning I was guessing, but as the match went on, I was able to see it and build on return.)"
브블릭은 "권순우의 서브가 정말 좋았다. 중요 순간마다 서브가 그에게 믿음을 준 경기였다. 권순우가 오늘처럼 경기한다면 정말 더욱더 훌륭한 선수가 될것이 틀림없다(He played out of his mind,» said the Kazakh talisman. «All the credit to him. In the most important moments he served unbelievable. I had 0-30 so many times and I didn’t have chances to win more points. If he plays like this he’ll be a great, great player.)"
권순우는 "정상급 선수들과 경기할때는 평정심,침착함을 유지하는것이 중요하다. 그리고 체력관리에 중점을 두고 훈련을 해왔는데 분명 이번 대회에 많은 도움이 되었다(Playing against the big players, you need to be cool and to not rush. That helps with nerves,» he added. «I’ve been working really hard on the fitness side too which has helped a lot this week.)"
